Kumata Alaskan Malamutes Established 1988 Having owned my first malamute as a young child, it came as no surprise when I told my husband that we were getting a malamute. In 1987 I purchased an Alaskan Malamute from an ad in the local newspaper. One day at the vet's office a man approached me and asked if I showed my mal. I told him I had no idea what he was talking about. He said my dog was very beautiful and refered me to a local breeder. I quickly called the number he gave me and arranged to take my dog to her for an evaluation. Although this breeder felt like he was a nice dog, his pedigree left a lot to be desired. After spending the afternoon with her I left her home having placed a deposit for a show quality bitch. This breeder was Vicky Jones of Vykon Kennels and the bitch became my foundation... Ch. Vykon's Kumata Glory Bound. Since then we have owned or produced multiple Champions, Group winner, Placers, and Specialty Winners with very limited litters being produced.
